Bird's Nest Ferns (Asplenium nidus) originate from tropical regions of Asia, Africa, and Australia, growing as epiphytes on trees. This versatile plant adds a touch of elegance to any space. With its lush, long fronds and easy care nature, it's perfect for adding a touch of greenery to your home or office. Experts recommend it for its air-purifying abilities and its ability to thrive in low light conditions.

Bird nest fern Care Guide

  • Light: Bright, indirect light; avoid direct sun and deep shade.
  • Watering: Keep soil moist but not waterlogged; water the soil, avoiding the central cup to prevent rot. Reduce watering in winter.
  • Humidity: High humidity is key; mist regularly or place in humid rooms like kitchens/bathrooms.
  • Temperature: Average household temperatures, protect from cold drafts.
  • Soil: Well-draining, rich potting mix (e.g., peat-free compost with grit).
  • Feeding: Weak liquid feed occasionally during the growing season (spring/summer).
  • Grooming: Dust leaves gently; remove dead fronds; rotate for even growth.
  • Key Tip: Don't water the crown! Water the soil at the edges to mimic rainfall and prevent crown rot, which is the most common issue.
  • Non-toxic to cats and dogs.
