Ficus Benjamina Twilight Pyramid
f you’re looking for an elegant indoor tree with soft variegated foliage, the Ficus benjamina ‘Twilight’ is a beautiful choice. Also known as the Variegated Weeping Fig, it has graceful arching branches covered in small green leaves edged with creamy white, giving it a light, fresh, and airy look. It’s perfect for adding height, texture, and a classic leafy feel to a bright indoor space.
Origin: Ficus benjamina is native to tropical and subtropical regions of Asia and northern Australia. The ‘Twilight’ variety is a cultivated form loved for its attractive cream-and-green variegation and graceful, tree-like shape.
Care Guide
Light: Ficus benjamina ‘Twilight’ enjoys bright, indirect light. Good light helps maintain its pretty variegation and keeps growth healthy. Avoid harsh direct midday sun, which can scorch the pale leaf edges, and avoid very dark spots, as this may cause leaf drop or reduced colour.
Watering: Allow the top couple of inches of soil to dry out before watering. It prefers a thorough drink followed by time to dry slightly, rather than sitting in wet compost. Try to keep watering consistent, as sudden changes can cause leaves to drop. Reduce watering in winter when growth naturally slows.
Temperature & Humidity: It enjoys normal household warmth and should be kept away from cold draughts, open windows, and radiators. Ficus benjamina can be sensitive to sudden changes in position, temperature, or light, so choose a bright, settled spot and avoid moving it too often.
Feeding: Feed once a month during spring and summer with a balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser. No feeding is needed during winter while growth naturally slows.
Toxicity: Important! Like other Ficus plants, Ficus benjamina ‘Twilight’ is toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested. Its milky sap can also irritate skin, so keep it away from curious pets and children and wash hands after pruning or handling damaged leaves.
It’s a graceful, timeless houseplant—perfect if you want something leafy, variegated, and tree-like with an elegant indoor presence.
