Care Guide

Light: Monstera obliqua prefers bright, indirect light. Good ambient light will help support healthy growth, but direct midday sun can scorch its thin, delicate leaves. Avoid very dark corners, as low light can slow growth and reduce leaf development.

Watering: Keep the soil lightly moist, but never soggy. Water when the top inch of soil begins to dry, making sure excess water can drain away fully. It does not like sitting in wet compost, but it also shouldn’t be left bone dry for long periods. Reduce watering slightly in winter.

Temperature & Humidity: This is a true tropical plant, so warmth and humidity are key. Keep it away from cold draughts, chilly windowsills, and radiators. It will really appreciate higher humidity, so a humidifier, terrarium-style setting, or bright bathroom can help it thrive.

Feeding: Feed once a month during spring and summer with a diluted balanced liquid houseplant fertiliser. No feeding is needed during winter while growth naturally slows.

Toxicity: Important! Like other Monstera plants, Monstera obliqua is toxic to cats, dogs, and humans if ingested. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation to the mouth and digestive tract, so keep it away from curious pets and children.
